RBS & Operon Design
Work on the translation-initiation side of an expression construct: read the strength of an existing ribosome binding site, design a 5-prime UTR towards a strength you want, or stack several coding sequences into one operon.
The E. coli lac operon and two synthetic transcription units: analyze a real Shine-Dalgarno in context, reverse-design a 5′UTR, or stack CDSs into an operon
What it does
- 01RBS strength analysis for a selected CDS
- 02Reverse design of a 5-prime UTR towards a target strength
- 03Operon construction, stacking several CDSs into one construct
- 04Results written back onto the map as annotations
What it runs on
Analysis and design run on the headless engine in packages/ports. The panel runs on @ports/rbs, @ports/regulatory.
Everything runs client-side. Files are parsed in the browser and projects are saved on this machine, so an unpublished sequence is never uploaded.
Questions
- Can it design a UTR for a strength I specify?
- Yes. Reverse design takes a target strength and produces a 5-prime UTR aimed at it, which is the inverse of the analysis path.
