Phylogenetics
Turn an alignment into a tree and judge how well the data supports it. Four inference methods are available, bootstrap support is computed per branch, and the tree can leave as Newick, NEXUS or PhyloXML for any downstream tool.
Eight cricket COI genes with an 18-taxon tree that contains the same taxa, plus 19 divergent HIV-1 env genes where model selection actually decides something
What it does
- 01Neighbour joining, BIONJ, UPGMA and parsimony inference
- 02Bootstrap support per branch
- 03Tree shape statistics
- 04Tip selection linked back to the sequences the tree was built from
- 05Newick, NEXUS and PhyloXML export
What it runs on
Distance and parsimony methods run on the headless engine in packages/ports. The panel runs on @ports/msa, @ports/phylo.
Everything runs client-side. Files are parsed in the browser and projects are saved on this machine, so an unpublished sequence is never uploaded.
Questions
- Does it compute bootstrap support?
- Yes. Support values are computed per branch by resampling, and they are shown on the tree rather than only in an export.
