Enzyme Collections

The enzyme list, scoped to the sequence you have open: every enzyme carries how many times it cuts this construct, Type IIS enzymes are flagged as cutting outside their recognition site, and the collection you make here is the one the digest tool offers.

Phage λ plus five plasmids from 2.2 to 7.3 kb: run the λ/HindIII marker you build from its own sequence, beside real digests at an adjustable agarose percentage

01

What it does

  1. 01The built-in NEB catalogue of 201 enzymes, each with its recognition site
  2. 02Live per-enzyme cut counts on the open sequence, so a unique cutter is visible at a glance
  3. 03Exact cut coordinates and overhang geometry per enzyme
  4. 04Type IIS enzymes flagged, since they cut outside their recognition site
  5. 05Collections that group enzymes, which then scope the restriction digest picker
  6. 06Custom enzymes with their own recognition sites, validated before they are saved
02

What it runs on

Every count and coordinate is computed by the golden-validated `@ports/enzymes` engine over the open sequence. The panel runs on @ports/enzymes, @ports/gibson, @ports/ligation, @ports/rebase.

Everything runs client-side. Files are parsed in the browser and projects are saved on this machine, so an unpublished sequence is never uploaded.

Questions

Where does the enzyme list come from?
The built-in catalogue is the NEB set of 201 enzymes shipped with the app, and your own definitions are merged into it. Nothing is fetched at runtime, so the list works offline.
Can I add an enzyme that is not in the catalogue?
Yes. A custom enzyme is defined by its recognition site and cut positions, validated on entry, and joins the catalogue for cut counting and digestion.
What does the collection do?
It scopes the picker in the restriction digest tool, so a digest is chosen from the enzymes you actually have on the bench rather than from all 201.
